Eclipse Chart
The upcoming solar eclipse is with the new moon in Libra. A solar eclipse can only happen during a new moon. A solar eclipse happens when one of the nodes, either the south node or north node, is with the new moon. This new moon is also part of the previous lunar eclipse in Pisces as we are still in the letting go energy of these eclipse cycles.
What’s this Eclipse about? Endings, New beginnings! A course correction is up to you! It suggests letting go of something old to bring in something new.
Let’s start with the nodes. In astrology, the The South Node reveals the shadow work that individually or as a collective we must deal with in order to evolve. It represents qualities, traits, or behaviours that come from past experiences. It reflects the comfort zone or familiar patterns that we tend to rely on. The south node can also be the place where we might get stuck in old patterns or cycles of behaviour.
When the South Node is in Libra, it’s asking what is fair? Can we leave behind people-pleasing tendencies that cost us our authenticity. On the other other hand the north node in Aries, the sign of independence, action & pioneering leadership, is asking us to move towards being independent and have the ability to Forge new paths for ourselves and trust our own ideas.
Aries
Aries is a cardinal sign whose ruler is Mars, the planet of passion, drive, and determination! It is the sign of the individual that shouts, “I am.”
Libra
Libra, on the other hand, is a cardinal air sign who’s ruled by Venus. Venus is associated with beauty, harmony & relationships. Libra is the sign of balance cooperation and has a need for diplomacy! So both these themes are particularly prevalent when the Libra/Aries self verses other axis are activated.
With the Moon square mars bringing tension, this eclipse suggests compromise could be a particularly big theme over the next couple of months. The key challenge with this eclipse is to balance your natural relationship skills with personal strength and self-direction. It marks a powerful opportunity for personal reflection and realignment, particularly in relationships and partnerships of any kind.
The ruler of the eclipse is Venus, who has just moved into Scorpio. Venus rules love, relationships, and values. In Scorpio, it brings intensity, passion, and a deep desire for transformative and intimate connections. There’s often a magnetic and secretive nature to how Venus in Scorpio’s affection is expressed. The lower expression could be seen as intensely passionate and controlling, but if we incorporate the elevated, more evolved expression of Venus in Scorpio it asks us to take a step back and detach, lets see the bigger picture to help bring about those transformations within our relationships.
Venus in Scorpio is also one of the planets that is part of an ongoing GRAND TRINE .
What’s a Grand Trine?
A Grand Trine in astrology occurs when three planets are each about 120 degrees apart, forming an equilateral triangle in the chart. This aspect is considered harmonious and provides an easy flow of energy between the 3 planets involved.
This particular grand trine incorporates Mars in Cancer, the aforementioned Venus in Scorpio, and Saturn in Pisces. This is a water Grand trine that represents emotional depth, intuition, and sensitivity.
The next planet in the grand trine is Mars in Cancer! Mars, which represents action, drive, and assertiveness, in the sign of Cancer, a cardinal water sign. It tends to be a more protective and emotionally driven mars. It takes action based on emotional needs or in defence of loved ones. Mars in cancer can also sometimes be indirect, sensitive, and emotionally reactive in its expression.
Completing the grand trine, we have Saturn in Pisces. Saturn represents discipline, responsibility, and structure. It gives those who work hard rewards in time. In Pisces, it can be more spiritual and compassionate, but there’s also the challenge of bringing structure to creative or idealistic visions. The appropriate card in Tarot would be the Star card. Saturn in Pisces can teach lessons around emotional boundaries and the practical side of empathy.
Adding the three planets together, this Grand Trine in Water suggests strong emotional intuition and flow between your Action (Mars), relationships (Venus), and sense of responsibility or life lessons (Saturn). It indicates that you can navigate deep emotional waters using intuition to act, relate, and take responsibility.
In conclusion, this solar eclipse is about balance and cooperation of self and other. With the added energy of the grand trine, it gives us the imagination and discipline to lay down new foundations and start to solidify goals. It’s about restoring the equilibrium inside and out, shedding the old outdated ways that may have contributed to the original imbalances.
As always, Eclipses are known for bringing moments of change! Energies of this eclipse may spark new beginnings or reveal necessary endings, encouraging us to make adjustments that better align with our true direction and purpose.
